Site Investigations & Assessments
Site Investigations and Assessments
There
is increasing awareness and legislation concerning the use of Brownfield sites. Our experienced team can advise both
purchasers and sellers on aspects of land liability and property due diligence.
The management of contaminated or potentially contaminated land, involves a
preliminary identification of risks due to the presence of contaminants, in
order that appropriate action can be taken. A good site investigation assessment
should aim to be clear, concise and comprehensive. For this reason, the survey is divided into
separate processes including:
- Analysis
and interpretation of historical and modern maps and photograph
- Archive
and literature searches
- Regional
and local geological and hydrogeological classifications
- Historical
chain of title and activities carried out on site including hazardous materials
employed in the process walk-over surveys, slope and drainage surveys
- Planning,
supervision and reporting of site investigations in accordance with BS
10175:2001 Code of Practice.
- Borehole,
surface water, interceptor, and foul water inspections
- Sampling
of contaminated soil and water for laboratory analysis
- Gas
assessments
- Asbestos
surveys
- Waste
Classifications
