Fitz Scientific is a world class monitoring and testing company that meet and exceed customer expectations. Based in Drogheda Co. Louth we are seeking to recruit an Environmental Scientist for our growing business.

Environmental Scientist
  • Managing environmental projects from initial contact to completion.

  • You will manage resources including, equipment, calibrating and servicing schedules

  • You will be responsible for the development of new Field Services activities including approval for Legionella assessments.

  • Lead, guide and direct the team to complete work to the highest standards

  • Delegate tasks as appropriate

  • Training and development of field personnel

  • Mentor and inspire people to perform to their best ability


Technical Development

  • You will be responsible for the development of new services in water, occupational monitoring, noise and soil monitoring.

  • You will be responsible for the development of new areas of technical science.


Quality Development

  • Attain full membership of the Legionella Control Association

  • Minimising the financial, technical and physical risks of all projects

  • Completion of audits as required by Quality Manager including witness testing and participation in INAB audits.

  • Issue quality reports on time


Customer Development

  • Assist the Sales and Marketing team in the marketing of Legionella testing services

  • and in the development of new services


New Business Development

  • Environmental and occupational noise

  • Occupational monitoring

  • Legionella testing services

  • Environmental management projects

  • A bachelor’s degree in Environmental science or similar field such as chemistry, biology or environmental engineering.

  • One to two years’ experience in an environmental role

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Good organisational and time management skills.

  • Self-motivated and ability to work on own initiative.

  • Good interpersonal skills and act with integrity.

  • Be a team player

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Good problem-solving skills

  • Good project management skills

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of current environmental legislation with the ability to interpret and apply new legislation/regulations as required.

  • Full clean driving licence

  • Fluent in written and oral English.

  • Good PC skills.

  • Appointment to this role is subject to the candidate’s eligibility to work in Ireland.
