Responsibilites
Requirements
New Method Validations
Working with our research and development team, you will implement efficient validation procedures to include the following:
Validation plans to include a full scope of work
Detail scope of the validation to include food matrices, reference methods, PT scheme participation, proof of testing, method issues, limitations, units, reporting requirements.
Detail health and safety requirements
Detail resources required to complete the work
Detail time schedules and expected completion dates
Detail data analytic requirements and how data flows will be incorporated into existing data systems.
Complete planned validations, submit data to Accreditation Board, address any potential non-conformances and implement methods.
Process Optimisation
Review existing microbiological processes
Optimisation of daily scheduling and forecasting
Optimise daily planning routines
Optimise weekly planning routines
Work with our data analytics team on the development of new functionality on our LIMS, scheduling and QMS systems.
Optimise and improve existing QC and QA systems
Removal of all paper records from microbiological testing services
Coach, train, communicate and encourage all teams to do outstanding work.
Work with testing teams, bringing them along and assist in implementation of positive change.
Continually developing world class systems, that meet and exceed our customers’ expectations always.
Ensure all analysis is carried out as per the SOP and to the requirements of ISO 17025.
Update/create SOPs and GOPs as required.
Ensuring data is collected and recorded to data systems appropriately.
Work with improvement projects and new method development.
Ensuring work is completed to the required quality standards.
Device calibration
Support internal and external audits for regulatory compliance
Ability to work as part of a team.
Participate/conduct stock control management.
Ability to learn and innovate.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
Other duties as required.
Bachelor’s degree in a microbiological field with 3-5 years’ experience in an ISO 17025 or ISO 15189 environment.
Previous experience with microorganism’s identifications using bio/ immunological testing kits or microscope techniques.
Ability to work under pressure with good organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
Familiar with daily microbiology laboratory routine. Daily sample testing, daily quality control and customer contact
Good knowledge of legislative requirements and developments.
Have strong commercial and customer awareness and understanding.
Self-motivated and ability to work on own initiative.
Strong leadership skills and have the ability work with other technical and business teams.
You will have the ability to research new methods and keep up to date with the latest technological advances in methods, software and AI applications.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills and act with integrity.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and good IT skills.
Fluent spoken and written English.
Appointment to this role is subject to the candidate’s eligibility to work in Ireland.
