Drinking Water

The following options are available to you in relation to having your Drinking Water analysed.

Option 1

A Drinking Water Test Kit can be ordered online which will be posted out to you free of charge. This kit contains bottles, latex gloves and instructions on how to take your drinking water sample.

The water sample will be tested for the Check Drinking Water Analysis - European Communities (Drinking Water) Regulations 2007 (SI 278 of 2007):   Aluminium, Ammonia, Clostridia, Coliforms, Colour, Conductivity, E Coli, Iron, Nitrite, pH, Hardness, Turbidity, Manganese.

A Certificate of Analysis will be posted out in 10 working days along with an information sheet on understanding your results.

The cost of this option is €100.00 and can be paid for online or by cheque with sample.

Extra Parameters: We can also test for a range of other parameters apart from the standard list some for example like; Nitrates,THM, Langlier index for corrosiveness, Lead, Copper, Arsenic Fluoride, Sodium & Silt Density Index etc. Individual prices for these can be given over the phone or are listed on order page and can be ordered on line.

Option 2

You can Schedule a Technician from Fitz Scientific to call to your home and take the Drinking water sample for you. The cost of this depends on your location so if you wish to email us at info@fitzsci.ie (Subject: Drinking Water Query) with your name, location and phone number, we will provide you with cost and any further information you request.

Option 3

Bottles can be collected at our laboratory located at Unit 35, Boyne Business Park, Drogheda. (North Side of Drogheda, on Newtown Road, near Greenhills College). Payment for analysis can be made at reception by cash, cheque or credit card. Samples to be delivered before 12 noon Friday.

Please note that the time from sampling to initiation of analysis should be no longer than 24 hours, 6 hours ideally. If time exceeds 30 hours, results for coliforms are inaccurate, due to stress and die-off.
