Fitz Scientific has expanded our INAB-accredited food microbiology testing scope to include three new methods: Campylobacter, Lactic Acid Bacteria, and Clostridium Perfringens in Food.
These additions further strengthen Fitz Scientific’s comprehensive food safety testing capabilities, supporting our customers across Ireland’s food manufacturing, processing, and retail sectors. With these tests, Fitz Scientific continues to assist Ireland’s food industry in meeting regulatory requirements, customer audit standards, and quality assurance objectives.
About the New Tests
Enumeration of Thermotolerant Campylobacter Spp based on ISO 10272-2:2017+A1:2023 – a key pathogen associated with poultry and raw meat safety, now increasingly monitored under EU and retailer standards
Presumptive Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) based on ISO 15214:1998 – an important measure of product spoilage and shelf-life, particularly in chilled and fermented foods.
Clostridium Perfringens in Food, Swab and Feeding Stuffs based on ISO 15213-2:2023 – relevant for cooked and vacuum-packed foods, used to validate heat processes and prevent spoilage or safety risks.
Supporting Food Safety and Compliance
Fitz Scientific provides a wide range of tests to identify and quantify harmful microorganisms, including pathogens like Salmonella, Listeria, Bacillus and Staphylococcus aureus and other spoilage organisms. All testing is performed to ISO/IEC 17025 standards, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and confidence in every result.
