PAH and PCB in Soil and Solid Samples

Our Research and Development team have been working on validating a method for PAH and PCB analysis in soil and solid samples.

Using automated solvent extraction and a GC-MS analytical technique, we have validated a method for 7 PCB congeners and 17 PAH compounds, in accordance with the requirements of Commission Decision 2000/532/EC and EPA Guidance on Waste Acceptance Criteria at soil recovery facilities.

Matrices include, sand, loam and clay soil, recycled aggregates and construction and demolition waste. Expected LODs in the range of 2ug/kg for PCBs and 20ug/kg for PAHs.

Submission of validated method to INAB for accreditation expected Quarter 1 2026.
